SwissBorg Crypto Exchange Hacked for $41 Million in Solana
SwissBorg, a Switzerland-based cryptocurrency exchange, has confirmed a major security breach that resulted in the theft of $41 million worth of Solana (SOL). The incident was caused by a third-party staking partner’s API vulnerability, which directly impacted SwissBorg’s SOL Earn Program.
SwissBorg Confirms $41 Million Loss
In an official announcement on September 9, 2025, SwissBorg admitted that attackers exploited the compromised API of its staking provider. As a result, hackers successfully drained 192,600 SOL (over $41.3 million) from the SOL Earn program.
The breach was also verified by well-known on-chain investigator ZachXBT.
SwissBorg Promises Customer Compensation
SwissBorg stated it will use company funds to cover the majority of user losses, with specific details to be announced soon. The firm has also engaged with white-hat hackers and global security partners to trace the attackers and recover the stolen funds.
Attack Limited to SOL Earn Program
According to SwissBorg, the incident is isolated to the SOL Earn program. All other assets, accounts, and Earn products on the SwissBorg app remain 100% secure.

The SwissBorg hack comes amid a series of escalating crypto exchange breaches worldwide:
- BtcTurk: $49 million
- WOO X: $14 million
- CoinDCX: $44 million
- BigONE: $27 million
- Nobitex: $81.7 million
On the same day, a critical supply chain vulnerability in NPM JavaScript libraries was also reported, prompting experts to warn users to pause on-chain transactions until further mitigation.
