Tether CEO Sets $1 Trillion Target For USAT Stablecoin As US Market Reopens
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, unveiled an ambitious roadmap for the company’s US-focused stablecoin USAT at TOKEN2049, projecting the token could reach a $1 trillion market cap within three to five years.
Speaking during a panel titled “USA₮ — Tether in America”, Ardoino argued that the bold target is achievable based on the explosive growth trajectory of USDT, while also reflecting rising optimism that the American market is reopening to crypto innovation.

Optimism From Partners And Capital Plans
Nathan McCauley, CEO of Anchorage Digital — the only crypto-native institution to secure a federal banking charter and the official USAT issuer — reinforced the bullish outlook. He even joked that the “T” in USAT could stand for “trillions” instead of just “Tether.”
The session also featured USAT CEO Bo Hines and Cantor Fitzgerald Chairman Brandon Lutnick, underscoring strong investor interest as Tether is reportedly pursuing a $20 billion capital raise at a $500 billion valuation. Such a figure would place Tether alongside major tech giants like OpenAI in terms of market scale.
A Favorable US Regulatory Landscape
Much of the excitement around USAT is tied to expectations of a friendlier regulatory climate in the US. After years of uncertainty, the American market is increasingly seen as reopening to crypto products that meet compliance standards.
With USDT already dominating the global stablecoin market, Ardoino believes that a US-specific product like USAT could capture significant market share as both institutional and retail adoption accelerates.
Distribution Strategy Leveraging Rumble
Ardoino also highlighted a unique go-to-market plan centered on Rumble, the video platform where Tether holds a major stake. With 51 million monthly active users, Rumble is preparing to launch its own crypto wallet later this year, which would give USAT immediate access to a massive user base and fast-track adoption.
