1. First Solana Staking ETF Makes Impressive Debut

On July 2, 2025, the REX-Osprey Solana + Staking ETF (ticker SSK) began trading on the Cboe BZX Exchange, marking the first Solana staking ETF in the U.S. It recorded $33 million in trading volume and $12 million in inflows on its first day, surpassing previous XRP and Solana futures ETFs.

2. Unique Fund Structure Incorporating Staking

SSK is registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, requiring assets to be held by a qualified custodian. REX-Osprey selected Anchorage Digital, the only federally chartered bank authorized to custody and stake digital assets. Approximately 80% of the fund's assets are invested in SOL, with over half actively staked to generate an annual yield of about 7.3%.

3. Positive Signals for Spot Solana ETFs

SSK's success boosts expectations for SEC approval of spot Solana ETFs. Approximately 13 entities, including Fidelity and VanEck, are awaiting approval. Bloomberg predicts a 95% chance of spot Solana ETF approval by the end of 2025.
