Crypto Influencer BitBoy Arrested in Florida
1. BitBoy Arrested For Sending Emails To A Judge
New Drama: BitBoy Crypto Wanted by Authorities
According to information from Volusia County, Florida, Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy, was listed as a "fugitive from justice" and was taken into custody at 7:18 PM on March 25.
A few days earlier (March 21), Armstrong posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the arrest warrant stemmed from his actions as his own legal representative and for sending emails to Georgia Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs. He also claimed the judge had deleted her social media accounts due to pressure from those emails.
2. BitBoy’s Legal Troubles Over The Years
This is not the first time BitBoy has been involved in legal controversy:
-
September 2023: He was arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former business associate, whom he accused of withholding his Lamborghini.
-
March 2023: Armstrong was named in a class-action lawsuit for promoting Binance, which was accused of selling unregistered securities. The case was settled in August 2024 with a $340,000 payment (alongside NBA player Jimmy Butler) without any admission of wrongdoing.
3. Mixed Image In The Crypto Community
In February 2024, BitBoy took part in a show fight in Mexico against memecoin developer “More Light” and emerged victorious. Although he presented himself as friendly in person, his online persona has often sparked controversy.
Additionally, in August 2023, Hit Network, the parent company behind the BitBoy Crypto brand, officially cut ties with Armstrong, citing alleged substance abuse and unprofessional behavior toward staff. Armstrong denied the allegations and called it an internal coup attempt.
4. Conclusion: From Crypto Icon To Controversial Figure
Ben Armstrong was once one of the most influential voices in the retail crypto space, but a string of scandals – from livestream drama and asset disputes to lawsuits and now arrest – has eroded his reputation.
His recent arrest serves as a stark reminder of the thin line between online fame and real-world legal consequences.
